CASA SANTA TERESA
The project is located on the French Island of Corsica. Thanks to the native architect Amelia Tavella who completed the design of 'Casa Santa Teresa', they have renovated an existing house from the 1950s to create a new seaside residence. Just a few steps from the beach, the design focuses on making the most of the idyllic location and celebrating the natural landscape.
Amelia's words: "I believe in the memory of the walls, the way it leaves its mark on a space. This is the story of the pleasure that had to be found here. Pleasure of baths, invasive nature, the great proximity of the beach, the rocks, the Mediterranean Sea."
Both the exterior and interior architecture are defined by swathes of white surfaces offset by warm timber finishes. The connection between inside and outside is also established thanks to large, pivoting doors and generous external living spaces, which allow residents to enjoy outdoor summer dinners while looking out across the blue horizon.
The architect explains, "pivoting doors, alcoves, no partition prevents the view. I wanted beauty to flow, to be an invitation to the horizon, to the imagination."

The interiors are bright and airy with cool concrete floors, raw materials and handcrafted features. Simple modern furnishings and decorative pieces create stylish spaces that are inviting and elegant.
The space is split over various levels, with the "social areas" located on the lower floors and a wooden staircase connecting the upper rooms.
At ground level, a stone terrace extends out to a pool area, from which one can access the beach via a few slabbed steps.
