Les Chauvins - French gîte
It was the stunning views from Les Chauvins' elevated position nestled into the side of a valley which captivated them when they first saw this idyllic rural haven. They were searching for a place where they could slow down and return to the rural living that they both love, in order to spend more time outdoors surrounded by and connected to nature.
Kelly and Peter, purchased Les Chauvins in December 2019 and began imprinting their own style and approach to running the gîte business, which combines charm and a certain 'minimalism', assumed for the sake of the environment: antique and revamped furniture, calculating and offsetting the carbon footprint of their guests' travel, local and/or organic products, organic Fairtrade bed linen... and which attracts guests who are increasingly sensitive to ecology, in search of places and experiences that contribute to it.

"Les Chauvins is a rural self-catering property with a unique sustainability Pledge providing peace of mind, while you are enjoying your fabulous French holiday, you are doing so in a way that is limiting your impact on the environment.
What does that mean?
Well, whilst consistently maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality and attention to detail in beautifully presented gîtes, we are now also making a proactive commitment to lower impact living and being more socially responsible, in realistic but meaningful ways"

In a superb location with magnificent views and a beautiful swimming pool, the outdoor rooms, some defined by large soaring shade sails, are as important as the interiors. Therefore, new for the summer 2022 season, Kelly selected a range of furniture from Tine K Home's bamboo collection to complete the transformation. It was the perfect choice aesthetically, for comfort and durablity and aligning with their Sustainability Pledge - Read more
Now the grounds and pool areas are furnished with beautiful sunbeds, sofas and lounge chairs with bamboo stools as side tables, for guests to relax and unwind as they discover their bliss in this French rural Idyll.
After the lockdown which they productively spent repainting shutters and having the pool refurbished, their first guests, from France, Belgium and Netherlands, were welcomed during the summer of 2021. Season 22 is fully booked with guests travelling from Denmark, the UK and even Australia and America!
Peter and Kelly are committed to being a part of the local economy, thanks to partnerships with producers (their guests receive a superb welcome basket) and they are also sensitive to the many cultural projects that are developing in their municipality which they are determined to participate in.
Kelly also keen to develop the artistic and cultural aspects of their project, to diversify the clientele and share the many different opportunities that Les Chauvins presents.
Very "well-being" oriented, as a place of relaxation and rejuvenation, they will host yoga and meditation retreats, residencies and workshops for photographers and artists and offer small jazz concerts and various catering options.
